Examples of what you may bring:
• Furniture (e.g., sofas, chairs, and dressers)
• Mattresses (please wrap before bringing it to the event – special mattress disposal bags can be purchased at hardware stores, e.g., Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.)
• Appliances (e.g., washers, dryers, and refrigerators)
• Green Waste
Unwanted electronics (e-waste), including TVs, computer monitors, printers, fax machines, VCRs, etc., will also be collected. However, no household hazardous waste (HHW) material will be accepted. Debris from contractors, landscapers or commercial businesses will NOT be accepted.
Free Compost! Also available will be free compost for El Cajon residents (while supplies last). This is a self-serve, self-loading, and self-haul service, so please bring your own cans/bags, gloves, and shovel—there is a limit of 3 cans/bags per vehicle. If you plan to haul your compost in an open truck or trailer, please remember to bring a tarp to cover your material.
